Optymyse supports MP3 and WAV audio formats. However we do know that IE will not play WAV files.
Audio can only be used on threshold alerts. We recommended using sound on pop-up alerts to create most impact.
Before attaching a sound to a threshold it must be uploaded into the media library first by clicking on the media/add new from the Optymyse director main menu on the left.
To attach a sound to a threshold (once it is in the media library), select Thresholds from the main menu on the left, hover over the threshold hold rule you want to attach the sound to and click Manage Rules.
Once the ruleset is open expand the exisiting rule by clicking the down arrow. Click the audio icon, enable it, choose an audio file from the Sound File dropdown list and if required how many seconds to repeat the sound. Click Saves Rules button.
Sound should then play automatically (as long as the rule is attached to the required element*) when the threshold rule is triggered
*check the thresholds section in this knowlegebase for more information
